How to Reduce Noise and Vibration From Your Castors and Wheels

In many industrial and commercial settings, the constant squeaks, rumbles, and rattles from moving equipment or furniture can be more than a minor annoyance. 4. Balance The Distribution Of The Load

How goods are placed on the trolley is often overlooked, but the correct distribution of the load can make the difference between a noisy trolley and a quiet one, as well as improve the manoeuvrability of the equipment. Uneven weight distribution can lead to excessive vibrations and quicker wear and tear of the castors. Ensure that the equipment or furniture is not overloaded beyond the recommended weight capacity of the castors. This is even more important for heavy-duty applications as the risks posed by uneven load distribution are higher.

 

5. Add Shock Absorbers

Installing shock-absorbing materials or pads between the equipment and the floor can significantly dampen vibrations and reduce noise transmission. Materials such as rubber or foam pads effectively absorb shocks and vibrations. This approach is particularly beneficial in settings where even minimal noise can be disruptive.
